Progress Reports

Fourth quarter midterm was April 19th. That leaves us with less than a month left of instructional learning in the classroom! This week students received updated progress reports along with their most recent Algebra Test. The progress report shows the students' current 4th quarter grade as well as any missing assignments.

How to calculate cumulative (final) grade - for eligibility:

- On the progress report, locate all four quarter grades at the top (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4)

- Add the four quarter grades together (percents)

- Divide by four

- The final number will be your current overall percent for the school year.

Students should have test corrections and the extra credit assignment turned in by Friday, May 3rd. Keep up the great work!

New Unit: Geometry

This week we will be working we will be starting a new unit on geometry. Geometry is the study of shapes and lines. In 6th grade, students will be able to develop formulas for area (rectangles/triangles), volume (rectangular prisms) and surface area (basic 3D figures) through their own discovery.

Students can get a heads-up on this unit by checking out THIS page on 2-dimensional vs 3-dimensional shapes.

Students will be expected to be able to plot coordinates on a graph as a part of this unit.
More practice located HERE if needed.

Have a great week!
